Experience:
Jonathan is an executive and career coach specialising in clients who inhabit the board room and c-suite environment. Jonathan has honed his craft working as an internal coach for Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO), to which he brought his extensive learning, experience and interest in international trade and policy. At the FCO he worked on commerce, trade & Brexit, counter terrorism and conflict resolution, gaining promotion into the FCO’s senior management. During his successful career as a diplomat he was a change leader in the FCO, advocating effectively for equality for LGBT+ staff and better opportunities for BAME staff.
Jonathan has worked overseas in East Timor, Papua New Guinea, Canada and Afghanistan before being appointed British High Commissioner to Mauritius, Ambassador to the Comoros and Head of the British Indian Ocean Network, leading a team of around 40 people and winning almost £1 billion in contracts for British business from a standing start. Before leaving the FCO he led its Trade Diplomacy Department and helped secure the UK’s accession to the Government Procurement Agreement, worth around $1.7 trillion annually to its members.
Jonathan has recently been appointed Associate Board Member for Universities of the International Coach Federation’s UK Chapter (UK ICF) and is leading the UK ICF’s Covid-19 Emergency Taskforce. He has subsequently been appointed Vice President of UK ICF. He is Chair of Gatwick Airport’s Noise Management Executive Board and sits on the International Executive Board of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh.
Jonathan holds both British and Canadian nationality. In his spare time he likes to bake cakes before walking them off on the North and South Downs. He also keeps fit at the gym.

Coaching Style:
Results-focused, Challenging, Warm
Jonathan is particularly adept in getting to know and understand his clients so he can best provide appropriate challenge for their growth and development. He is particularly skilled in coaching his clients through a journey of self-reflection and understanding that results in the seemingly impossible, evolving to the possible, to be realised as the probable.
Throughout Jonathan maintains a warmth and connections that helps his clients to retain their focus on the results that they want and aspire to.
