Experience:
Dulcie spent over 20 years in FTSE 100 and 250 environments working mainly in leisure retail across a wide range of functions including Operations, Commercial, Finance and Brand Development before finding what she wanted to do when she grew up and specialising in HR.
As well as being a coach, trainer and facilitator, Dulcie has also worked as a non-exec director for a craft brewery and is a published author and public speaker. She regularly appears on BBC Radio to talk about the science of human performance and how to actually use it in real life.
Dulcie has 2 children, 3 stepchildren and 2 dogs. You might therefore not be surprised to know that she enjoys eating and drinking out. She models and typifies never being the finished article or being too old to learn new tricks. Dulcie learnt to play the guitar in 2018 and finds practicing her latest skill is a really good way to clear a room of teenagers to get some time alone!
Coaching Style:
Results Oriented, Kind, Challenging
Dulcie’s clients describe her as having a “spider-sense” of intuition that is combined with her Yorkshire temperament to be straight talking. She helps people to get to the root cause of what is really holding them back – and then to use her experience of applied psychology and neuroscience to form a plan that leads to actual change and growth.
Dulcie’s approach works well for anyone – apart from those who secretly think they are already perfect and have nothing left to learn.
“When it comes to coaching I can’t think of anyone who’s had a bigger impact on me than Dulcie. Her natural curiosity and incredible ability to stretch clients thinking with a no-nonsense style encourages reflection and commitment to action that genuinely makes a difference. Dulcie has a unique talent in being able to simplify her wealth of knowledge about psychology and neuroscience into highly effective coaching models and techniques. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside Dulcie and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her services to anyone looking for high support, high challenge coaching that delivers real results.”
”Dulcie and I have worked together over a 6 month period during which time, through her positive coaching style, she has enabled me to move forward in my own personal development and apply this effectively in the workplace. I think it is her enthusiastic, down-to-earth approach and balance of humour which meant that I felt connected with her immediately and which has enabled me to work through my goals. She has the right balance of empathy and honesty whilst questioning and challenging effectively to really make me think and challenge myself. It has been a great opportunity to work with her and I appreciate her support and encouragement throughout.”
